Does a reason exist
for our fall?
did we ever rise to grace
or were we merely, foolishly,
basking in our own imagination,
exulting in our self deceit,
like ostriches - our heads in the sand?
Do we insult ourselves
with our self - indulgent self - praise?
Do we laugh with the world
at ourselves -
while we believe
we laugh at them:
are we really that dense?
will we ever grow a brain?
Can we ever leave behind
our pride, our vanity, our stupidity,
and solve our problem -
before it kills us?
Is our god dead
or are we just the children of a lesser god?
